More Than Just Jewellery

Falienne started with a suitcase, a lot of miles, and a quiet observation - that the most stylish women I met weren't wearing the most expensive jewellery. They'd found their thing and just wore it, every day, without fuss.

Is it actually waterproof - shower, sea, gym?

Yes. Genuinely. That is rather the whole point. Every piece is built on 316L surgical-grade stainless steel with 18K PVD coating - designed for daily wear without removal. Shower in it, swim in it, wear it to the gym. A quick rinse after the sea is good practice, but it handles everything else without complaint.

The only things worth avoiding are harsh chemicals - bleach, cleaning sprays, perfume sprayed directly onto the metal. That is true of any jewellery, not just ours.

What does the 2-year guarantee cover?

Colour fading, tarnishing, and quality faults under normal daily wear - for two full years from purchase. If something goes wrong with the colour or quality and you have been wearing it normally, we will replace it. No hoops to jump through.

It does not cover accidental damage or prolonged contact with harsh chemicals. But if you are just wearing it as intended and something is not right, that is exactly what the guarantee is for. Get in touch at contact@falienne.com.

Will it tarnish?

No. Tarnish happens when metals like sterling silver or brass react with moisture and air over time. 316L stainless steel does not react that way - the base stays stable. The PVD colour coating bonds at a molecular level rather than sitting on the surface, which is why it holds up where standard gold plating fades.

I have sensitive skin - will I react to it?

Almost certainly not. 316L surgical-grade stainless steel is the same material used in medical implants - it has an extremely low nickel release rate, well within UK and EU safety limits. The vast majority of our customers who have reacted to jewellery before wear Falienne without any issue. If you have a severe diagnosed nickel allergy, it is worth checking with your GP, but for general metal sensitivity this is the right choice.

Will it turn my skin green?

No. That reaction happens when copper in base metals meets your skin acids. 316L stainless steel contains no copper, so it simply will not happen. If you have had green skin from jewellery before, it was almost certainly from brass underneath the finish - which is extremely common even in pieces that look silver or gold on the surface.

How quickly will it arrive?
